Phoenix FM interview Wolf Alice

Delighted to meet Wolf Alice for the first time – Ellie, Joel, Joff and Theo were at the Portland Arms in Cambridge (on the edge of the Phoenix FM transmission area!) to play a sold-out show at one of my favourite little venues. We had a chat in the pub about the current tour and EP releases, and I managed to blend into the band, just for a fleeting moment …

The band have come up in leaps and bounds over the last year, having been nominated at the NME awards for Best New Band. I’ve managed to catch them at a couple of festivals in the past (they were particularly great on the Lake Stage at Latitude last year) but it was the first time I saw them at their own gig and they didn’t disappoint, playing a 45 minute set to a massively enthusistic crowd with fantastic passion and energy.
