Bah – Humbug!

bah-humbugIt may be less than two weeks to Christmas but it’s still too early for me to put up my Christmas decorations, send out my cards and start playing Christmas music.

“Bah Humbug!” I hear you say, but if I start too soon I get fed up by the big day itself. When I was a kid, I don’t think we really got into it until a week beforehand so I’m largely sticking to that tradition.

However I made one exception today by playing a special Christmas song recorded earlier in the week by some of our key weekday daytime presenters, BRYAN POWIS, ROB JELLY, MICHELLE WARD, BOB SIMPSON and MIKE JONES. The POPETTES had even leant a hand with the recording which featured words penned by Bryan. So there that’s my contribution for now.

Next week I’ll start playing some Christmas tracks for real!

Now maybe when I get home tonight I will start putting the decorations up and writing those cards!

I was joined in the second hour of todays show, by CARL MERRY who presented the tale of Essex Highwayman, Sixteen String Jack. If you missed it, listen again here: – Essex Tales 10th December

See you next week,
