The sky’s the limit!

IMG_0161On today’s show I was joined by PAM WITHRINGTON who is the Fundraising and Marketing Director for THE ESSEX & HERTS AIR AMBULANCE TRUST.

Now a few weeks ago we were talking about the RNLI and just like them the Air Ambulance service is a charity. Costing over £5m annually to maintain, it is only thanks to the generosity of people across Essex that allows the service to continue and Pam outlined some of the ways that you can get involved – and it can be fun too! If you would like to get involved in either of their events this coming Sunday 8th September – The Foulness Bike Race or the Motor Cycle Event between Dunton and Harwich call them on 0845 2417690. For anything else you can either call that number or go to their website https://www.essexairambulance.uk.com/.Alternatively you can use good old “snail mail” by writing to Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust, Earles Colne Business Park, Earls Colne, Nr Colchester, Essex CO6 2NS.

Listen again to what Pam had to say on this subject right here: – Essex Air Ambulance Interview 2nd September

Premium rate numbers
Looking at the slightly quirkier side of life, in the second hour of today’s show we heard about the man who was so fed up by all the unwarranted calls he was receiving on his home telephone, trying to sell him something that he’s turned the tables on them. By converting his number into an 0871 premium rate line, he makes money every time he gets a call. Over the past two years he has turned a profit of £300. But the regulator has warned others not to follow this example saying that premium rate numbers are not designed to be used in this way.

OK – that’s me done for today. See you tomorrow along with Frances Clamp.

All the best,

Scott
