Sport from the 15th of June. The build up to Le Mans.

It was another feature packed show with plenty of talk on the day’s events, a look back at some of the week’s sporting stories and a look ahead to what most enthusiasts consider the world’s greatest motor race.

In the 2 hours we brought news of the rain effected Aegon Championship from Queens. Andy Murray beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in three sets to make the final in his warm-up tournament before Wimbledon. The world number 2 having to wait several hours before finally getting on court and eventually getting the job done.

Prior to the show, the British and Irish Lions had completed an emphatic victory over the New South Wales Waratahs, winning 47-17.

We brought news from the US Open golf and kept on top of India’s win over Pakistan at Edgbaston. We also kept an eye on Brentwood’s cricket scores, ending in a rain effected draw.

The other featured sport was the Le Mans 24 Hour Race. It is a week before the event and I will be bringing live updates from the circuit next weekend throughout the race on its 90th anniversary. This is the event that National Geographic Magazine listed as number one in their top ten sporting events, pushing the Olympics into second place.

Join Chris Siviter next Saturday from 4pm for Between the Lines. Keep an ear out for updates from the race throughout next weekend and keep an eye on my twitter updates @steverobbo.
