It’s June, the sun is shining and at last the thermometer is showing signs of heading in the right direction. So inevitably today’s show was packed full of “summer fun” sounds including a couple of tracks from our featured artist of the day, Za/Zu who were one of the 24 bands who took part in our CREATIVE SESSIONS in April. Just for the record, Za/Zu is a 5-piece Brighton based electro disco band.
Our collection of oddball stories included an item about a man who, whilst tearing down a wall in an abandoned property he had bought, found a comic featuring the first appearance of Superman. Unfortunately an argument with his wife’s relatives erupted and in the ensuing fracas, the back page of the comic got ripped, reducing its value by around $75,000. Nevertheless the latest bid at auction stands at $137,000. I wonder if the family are still on speaking terms!
We also learnt about the French cyclist, Francois Gissy who attached a motor, powered by Hydrogen Peroxide, to his mountain bike, thereby achieving a top speed of 163 mph. It is not recorded how, or if, he stopped!
Right I’m off to sink a couple of pints in the garden. See you tomorrow at the same time.
