Pot Noodle or a potted history?

Another Tuesday, another lunchtime and being a Tuesday I was again pleased to be joined by Frances Clamp but before she arrived we had time to look at another oddball news story extracted from Phoenix FM’s department of weird and whacky news.

Now I’m old enough to remember the time when we had only one TV channel rather than the hundreds we have today. Indeed it seemed then that there was more worth watching then than we have now. Well it seems that in Israel they feel that their pets are missing out. Well no more because they have just launched a channel aimed specially at dogs, so when you go off to work, you can now leave them to be entertained by their own channel. Seemingly the programmes have been scientifically devised to maintain the interest of the pooches left on their own during the day, and keep them amused. Reports suggest that the project is working well. Just wait til they get a choice of channels, it’ll all go to pot then! I wonder if the owners get badgered by their pets to go out and buy dog food treats they’ve seen advertised while their owners were out at work!

Frances Clamp brought us back down to earth with a potted history of Brentwood from Roman times up to 1480.  If you missed it you can listen to what she had to say right here: – [audio:https://www.phoenixfm.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Bygones-9th-April.mp3|titles=Bygones 9th April]

Well that’s me done for another week. See you next Tuesday.
