Good Friday Night Extra 29th of March 2013

The full two hour show is available on the Ingatestone Junior School website. Tonight in the first hour I was joined by Annabel and Lottie from Ingatestone C of E. Junior School. They were talking about Easter and whether it was an important festival. Annabel read a poem she had written and talked about Good Friday and going on the Ingatestone Walk of Witness, along with over 100 other people. Lottie talked about Easter Sunday and Easter Eggs. Everyone in the chatroom decided that the eggs should not be eaten until Easter Sunday and that Easter was a very important festival. There were lots of people in the chatroom requesting favourite tracks. Annabel and Lottie both introduced tracks chosen by listeners. Tracks requested were  from Olly Murrs, Justin Timberlake, Jessie J, Ottis Redding, Robbie Williams and Dexie’s Midnight Runners. We felt the Eagles track requested by Michael sounded like something from the soundtrack of a Spaghetti Western, but we liked it. In the second hour I was joined by Tim who had been on the Brentwood Walk of Witness and given away 400 Hot Cross Buns. He said how much fun it had been. We also had music racks tonight from Coldplay, Mott the Hoople (Roll away the stone) Bananarama and Fun Boy Three, The Jackson Five, Toto and Kate Bush, along with others. We also looked at some rather odd Easter customs from around the world, including a giant omlette made in a French town because Napolian had one made for his army and boys in a Polish town drenching people with water to remember the baptism of a prince in the 900s. Join me next week when my studio guest is Revd. Chris Goldsmith from Warley who is soon to be a Bishop in the Diocese of Truo. Happy Easter.
