Starting the new working week with maximum music

I hope you had a great weekend in spite of the miserable cold weather. Well whilst everyone else was back hard at work today we managed to enjoy a couple of hours filled with some great music. As you know I always try to unearth a couple of oddball stories for this show in an effort to give you a little chuckle. Unfortunately I rather fell down on the job this week as I ran out of time and only managed one story which concerned some traffic wardens in Germany who tried to put a parking ticket on a car seemingly covered in snow. Unfortunately for them the “car” was actually a full sized snow sculpture of a car which pranksters had constructed overnight in a “no parking” bay. It seems that the sculpture was complete with outlines for the headlights, windscreen, wing mirrors and even the distinctive VW badge on the bonnet. The deception only became clear when the wardens tried to scrape the snow off the number plate, only to find yet more snow!

Seemingly the German police were less than amused claiming that whether it was made of metal or snow was immaterial as it was still causing an obstruction! Presumably they didn’t get the drift!

Back tomorrow at the same time with another very busy show as not only will FRANCES CLAMP be along with our BYGONES feature but I’m also going to be joined by the deputy leader of Brentwood First, Cllr PHIL BAKER to discuss the revised charges now being applied in car parks in Brentwood. Controversial stuff!

See you tomorrow,

Scott
