It was a pleasure to welcome Valerie Long tonight. She talked about the work of Crossroads Care in supporting carers in our local area. Crossroads is a national organisation named after the 60s & 70s soap where Sandy Richardson was a disabled character with a carer. She reminded us that one in five people will be a carer at some time in their life. More info is available on www.brentwoodcrossroads.org.uk The charity clearly does some very important work and is always in the need of more volunteers. Anyone interested can phone 01277 201789.

I apologised to everyone for playing Joe Dolce to go with the story of a train driver announcing that a passenger talking loudly on her phone should quieten down. Amazingly that song was number one in fifteen countries and sold over six million copies. Towards the end of the show we talked about a TV station for dogs, yes really there is such a station. In the chatroom they suggested The Adventures of Sherlock Bones, Paws for Thought and Chews at Ten. This was our part of Comic Relief, where I had danced Gangham Style in a school playground with 190 children earlier in the day. Tracks tonight included those from Joe Sample, Dolly Parton, Love Affair, Otis Redding, Adele, Led Zeppelin, Beach Boys, Caro Emerald, Blood Sweat & Tears, Lady Antebellum, Florence Welch, Eric Clapton and others.

Join me next week when my studio guest is Ian Jorsyz, Vicar of South Weald.
