The first One-2-Three Show for March, the sun is shining, a whole new batch of songs to play and everything is right with the world. Well it is so long as you are not enjoying your coffee at an airbase in Sweden where it seems for the past two years the vending machine had been incorrectly connected to the heating system rather than the mains water. As the coffee was black no one had spotted the brown tinge affecting the water. Staff had noticed that the coffee didn’t taste that good but put it down to the fact that coffee out of a vending machine never tastes quite like the real thing. The mistake only came to light after the water in the heating system was turned off for maintenance!

The next two stories from Phoenix FM’s department of weird and whacky news concerned eating. The first story involveded a 19 year old girl from New York who since the age of 4 has been hooked on eating sticks of deodorant and occasionally, as a special treat, sprays some on her tongue. She now consumes 15 sticks per month and not surprisingly suffers from stomach cramps. Well at least I guess she won’t suffer from bad breath unlike the woman from Detroit who enjoys eating her cats fur balls – at least every 2 hours. So far she has eaten over 3200 fur balls. She also enjoys cleaning her cat by licking it, which she described as a “bonding thing”. I think I’ll stick to something more traditional!
