Fairtrade Fortnight launch event – Trolley Dash at Shenfield Co-op

Video from the Trolley Dash:

To launch this year’s Fairtrade Fortnight, Brentwood Fairtrade organised a trolley dash at the Co-operative store in Hutton Road, Shenfield.

Four teams took part – I joined Alan Johnson, Vic Damhar and Nikki Mills to form the Phoenix FM team, and there were also teams from Holly Trees, Brentwood Belles WI and Brentwood Borough Council, all with the aim of trying to find 20 Fairtrade products in the store in the quickest possible time.

The team from Holly Trees were victorious, managing to find everything in super-quick time, where for me it was a little bit too much my normal shopping expeditions, aimlessly walking up and down the aisles looking in vain for the one thing I went out to get.

Thanks to Alex Moore too for coming down to take pictures and videos – and sadly not ending up with the consolation Fairtrade chocolate.

Keep an eye on Brentwood Fairtrade’s Facebook and Twitter pages for up-to-date news and announcements on other events taking place over the fortnight.
