Music in your head and a potted history of Billericay

Another One-2-Three Show and another oddball story – this time about a woman from Coggeshall who is plagued by an affliction whereby she has music playing in her head all of the time and at such volume that she can’t hear what her husband is saying to her. I have the same problem with my wife but in my case it’s because I don’t pay attention  and in addition I usually walk around wearing headphones which are indeed blasting out music for real. Mercifully however I’m not plagued by songs like “HOW MUCH IS THAT DOGGY IN THE WINDOW?”, The National Anthem or “Auld Lang Syne”. This poor lady has been suffering from this rare form of tinnitus, known as musical hallucination, for the last 3 years and for which doctors say there is no cure.

Mercifully Frances Clamp joined me for our BRENTWOOD & BILLERICAY BYGONES feature. This week Frances provided a potted history of BILLERICAY from the 15th century to the second world war. Listen again to what Frances had to say right here: – [audio:https://www.phoenixfm.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Bygones-19th-February.mp3|titles=Bygones 19th February]

Mike Jones is back on this slot tomorrow with Bob Simpson in ythe hot seat on Thursday and Friday. I’ll see you again next Monday. Meantime keep warm as the temperatures head downwards yet again.

All the best,

Scott
