On today’s One-2-Three Show apart from the usual crop of fabulous music we took a look at some current zany stories as well as a serious look at the history of clocks of Brentwood, courtesy of Frances Clamp in our Brentwood & Billericay BYGONES feature.
First off we had stories of a teenage girl in the USA who together with her friend drugged her parents who had banned her from using the internet after 10pm at night. It seems that they were surprised but gratified when their daughter bought them some milkshakes. Unfortunately the milkshakes included a very potent sleeping draught used by the daughter’s friend which effectively knocked them out cold til the next morning allowing the daughter to surf the net to her heart’s content!
Next up we had the story of another American girl who “stole” her mother’s BMW so that she could go and see her father. Not so odd you might think, however the daughter was only 6 years old. Not surprisingly the “spin” on icy roads came to a fairly abrupt end after the 6 year old had collided with two parked cars and a lamp post! They clearly start driving at a young age in the US. Perhaps she should have stopped off for a milkshake!
In our Brentwood & Billericay Bygones feature, Frances Clamp re-visited the story of 4 famous Brentwood clocks. Although Frances had previously visited this subject in April last year, today Frances took a completely fresh look at this subject. Listen again to what Frances had to say on this subject right here: – [audio:https://www.phoenixfm.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Bygones-12th-February.mp3|titles=Bygones 12th February]
