I was delighted to be joined on today’s show by Shulagh Jacobs who has just completed her second e-Book, FAT BURNING INTENSIVE:SECRETS OF FAT LOSS and Shulagh explained why it becomes ever more difficult to shed those unwanted pounds as you get older. As Shulagh explained following the standard text book advice on dieting and exercising will not necessarily produce the desired results and in some cases can actually lead to increased weight – why is this? Well the simple explanation to a rather complex subject is that the body simply adapts to the lower intake, thereby cancelling out the benefits.
To learn more listen again to what Shulagh had to tell me here – [audio:https://www.phoenixfm.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Shulagh-Jacopbs-interview.mp3|titles=Shulagh Jacopbs interview]or better still grab yourself a copy of her book which is available as a PDF download from her website, www.fatburningintensive.com/secretsbook at a cost of £15.99. If you’re not into e-Books, a paperback version should be available in a few months time.
In a busy show we managed to cover two oddball stories from PHOENIX FM’s department of weird and whacky news. The first story involved a teenage girl jobseeker in Germany who was offered a job as a barmaid in a brothel by the local Job Centre. The girl had been seeking a position as a housekeeper. Personally I can’t see what all the fuss is about being offered work in a soup kitchen.
The second story involved an American comedian who seems to have upset a politician. The politician in question has been pursuing a campaign to obtain a copy of the US President’s birth certificate so the comedian, perhaps unwisely, promised to donate $5 million to charity if the politician was able to produce a birth certificate to prove that he was not the son of an orangutan. He did and is now suing the comedian for the money. Perhaps the lesson here is that you should never “monkey” with American politicians!
Right that’s Monday done and dusted. See you tomorrow at the same time of 1pm for more of the same.
