After two curries on the trot (!) a solid diet of music was the order of the day

After two nights indulging in my favourite Indian food, I needed a special diet today of music, music and yet more music to calm things down a shade! So from oldies by the likes of The Rolling Stones, Heart, Squeeze, Britney Spears and Carl Douglas to the latest sounds from One Direction, Calvin Harris, Haim, Josh Osho, Matt Cardle, Lawson and Bon Jovi as well the fabulous Dani Clay Band (who will of course be appearing at the next PHOENIX IN THE FOYER event on 9th March) I was able to indulge in my other passion for great music.

All this plus the welcome return of Frances Clamp who popped in to provide the interesting story of the Spigot Mortar which was installed in Norsey Wood to protect Billericay from marauding German invaders in the last war. As this weapon was only able to hit something with any degree of accuracy if it was no more than 100 yards distance, it would probably have been as much practical use as a chocolate fireguard! Anyway you can listen again to what Frances had to say on the subject right here: – [audio:https://www.phoenixfm.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Bygones-5th-February2.mp3|titles=Bygones 5th February]

So another week passes us by. Look after yourselves til I see you again next week.
