I was delighted to be joined tonight by Dean Kitchener from the Brentwood Foodbank. www.brentwood.foodbank.org.uk

It was fascinating to hear about how the foodbank was set up, how clients are sent to them and how anyone can support the foodbank by donations of food or money I was amazed that during January this year they have worked with over fifty clients. Clearly there is a need.

Musical requests tonight incuded Roxy Music, Kate Bush, Joni Mitchel, Marc Antionne and Beatles. We also had a request fromMark and Lorraine for a song about a horse. This led to lots of discussion in the chatroom and we ended up with both the Osmonds and KT Tunstall. We had tracks related to news stories from Blondie, Berlin, Chairman of the Board & Yardbirds. We also heard from Eva Cassidy, James Morrison, Mood Mosaic, Alison Krauss and others.

In the news stories we heard about fresh air being sold in tins in China for 50p a tin and also about a man in Morecambe finding a large piece of ambergris on the beach which is worth more than £100,000. It is used in perfume. You need to look it up to find out what it really is. Prepared to be disgusted! I am off next week, so do join Daniel Bridge. I will see you on February 15th.
