Forbes Female Fortunes
Forbes Magazine’s list of highest paid female musicians has been announced with the highest amount being a massive £36 million! I’ll let you know who that was in a minute but first I’m going to go backwards.
It was calculated from May 2011 to May 2012 and takes into account cash made from record sales, touring, endorsements, merchandise sales, as well as other projects and Katy Perry was 5th on the list earning £27.9 million, just under last year’s number 1, Lady Gaga who this year earned £32.2 million with is not far behind 3rd place, with £32.8 million which is Rihanna, 2nd place goes to someone who has much success on her tour which got £62,000 a night! And her most recent album Red helped boost the numbers up, it is of course talking about Taylor Swift.
And then in top place, earning £36 million this year is Britney Spears, and even though she has not released any new music or gone on tour, she got to top spot thanks to her tour which took place from June 2011 to December 2011 and also her platinum selling LP Femme Fatale.
Richard and Judy…are no more!
Presenters and couple Richard and Judy announced they wouldn’t be working together anymore. They have done many different programmes for more than 20 years but seem to be going their separates ways on the work front. Richard explained the decision saying that they “literally shook hands,”
He also said he “can’t see [them] hosting a show together again. Judy was the most reluctant TV presenter [he has] ever known. She is adamant she doesn’t want to go back into TV or radio.”
However Richard still seems comfortable on TV as he will be presenting a hard-hitting documentary about squatters, called ‘Madeley Meets The Squatters’.
Styles’ Sweet Treats for Swift
Rumours have been going round recently about One Directions Harry Styles’ relationship with singer Taylor Swift and this week they were spotted together celebrating Swifts Birthday.
As well as treating her to a pub lunch in Cheshire he also bought her a new hand bag, and ordered 23 cakes, as she turned 23, and an insider have talked about the cakes saying “The cakes were a selection of 12 flavours, including ones filled with candy floss and a mint liqueur centre. It was kept very secret to make sure there wasn’t a mob waiting to greet him when he pulled up.”
