James Davy, Director of Music from Chelmsford Cathedral joined me in the studio tonight.
He talked about a concert of music re-enacting the feel of Christmas in St. Mark’s in Venice from three hundred years ago. His work with the choirs at the Cathedral was clearly very rewarding. We also listened to a recording of the choir singing The Holly and the Ivy. Other seasonal offerings tonight came from Annie Lennox and Lady Antebellum. We had tracks from Rodrigo Y Gabriella CUBA, Gotye, Ralph McTell, Steeleye Span, Adele, Doors, Otis Redding, Stray Cats, 5,000 Volts, Marc Antionne, Coldpay and others. Yes it really was the most eclectic mix on radio! We also looked at some odd news stories and reminded ourselves about Save The Children’s Christmas Jumper Day on December 14th. I will be back next week, same time, same channel. But I will also be with you on Wednesday, 10-midnight, for an unusual Christmas mix that I guarantee with will be Wham, Wizzard and Slade free! Yes some other artists like Dave Koz, Peter White, Elvis Presley, James Taylor and the Beach Boys have recorded Christmas tracks. Join me to listen to them on Wednesday.
