Brrr! An ideal day for roast chestnuts

December is here already and with it the start of the festive season. Whilst I was sitting cosily in our studio many of the Phoenix FM gang were out braving the cold busy lighting up Brentwood.

Anyway we enjoyed ourselves playing some fabulous music – not Christmas songs yet though. Still too early for that to my  mind! So it was recent music from the likes of Little Mix, Robbie Williams, Hot Chelle Rae, JLS, Killers and Matt Nathanson plus some old favourites from Westlife, Christine Aguilera, Mike & The Mechanics, Jooles Holland and  Laura Branigan to name just a few of the great tracks played out this afternoon. Whilst today’s show was going out Leanne Louise and Edd Coates were appearing at the Lighting Up Brentwood spectacular, so to whet your appetite we played a couple of their songs – “Magic” by Leanne Louise with a song bearing the somewhat unusual title of  “Warchibeser” by Edd Coates. Of course Edd’s mother Jean was my guest on this show a few weeks ago.

As per usual Frances Clamp came along with the fascinating history of The Reading Rooms in Billericay in our Brentwood & Billericay Bygones feature. Listen to that feature again here: -[audio:https://www.phoenixfm.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Bygoners-27th-November.mp3|titles=Bygoners 27th November]

Anyway have a good week. I’ll see you again next Saturday.
