A BONFIRE NIGHT SURPRISE

Well much to my surprise I was once again privileged to find myself  sitting in for BRYAN POWIS on the prestigious DRIVE show today.

It seems that he and his family have been suffering from food poisoning. Don’t know where they picked that up from but my immediate suspicion is a dodgy banger at a firework party. Serves them right for eating fireworks!

Anyway whenever I sit in on this slot I routinely present the THREE O’CLOCK THRILL of 3 absolute stonking songs back-to-back. Today was no exception and the songs played were: – HIP TO BE SQUARE by HUEY LEWIS & THE NEWS, GET OUTTA MY DREAMS (and into my car) by BILLY OCEAN and finally ROAD RUNNER from JUNIOR WALKER & THE ALLSTARS.

We also ran through the 10 things you didn’t know this time last week which were: –

It takes 6 hours to reset Big Ben from BST to GMT, Watching a horror film burns up more calories than any other movie, IKEA has sold over 11 billion meatballs in the UK, Heston Blumenthal uses tampons as palate cleaners (after eating Ikea meatballs, perhaps!), the soil on Mars is similar to that found in Hawaii (but presumably without the surf!), New Scotland Yard is actually New, New Scotland Yard, Cornwall is home to the world’s largest witchcraft museum, “Sergeant” was spelt with a “J” in the RAF, Norwegians spend the most on dog food (any Norwegian friends been visiting the Powis household recently?) and finally Clarks are the shoe of choice for musicians in Jamaica.

Bryan will be back on parade tomorrow meantime I’ll see you at my regular time of 2pm tomorrow afternoon.

All the best,

Scott
