Theme for the week:- TV Talent Competitons

This week I was joined in the studio by Britain’s Got Talent Finalist’s The Mend for a chat about the show and what they have been up to since. This can be listened back to here https://www.phoenixfm.com/2012/10/07/the-mend/

And talking of Britain’s Got Talent it only just ended, back in May but already details of next year’s series have been revealed, including where and when auditions will take place.

Executive producer Sam Donnelly has been praising the show by saying “Britain’s Got Talent is a show like no other and after a fantastic series in 2012 we want to make sure that our next series is packed to the rafters with the very best variety talent around too.

“We have high hopes for all the cities and we’re determined to find even more talent than ever before.”

Well any performer with any talent at any age can take part in the competition and if you are interested in being part of the show in 2013 then keep reading to find out where the auditions are going to take place:-

  October 16, 17 – Glasgow, Crowne Plaza Hotel/SECC

  October 28, 29, 30 – Birmingham, ICC

  November 6 – Sheffield, City Hall

  November 10, 11 – Cardiff, Swalec Stadium

  November 18 – Belfast, Hilton Hotel

  November 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 – London, ExCeL Centre

  December 2, 3, 4 – Manchester, Manchester Central

Acts can apply for the auditions on the Britain’s Got Talent website.
Filmed auditions with the judges will take place in the New Year.

And on the subject of talent contests…

Girls Aloud Reunite

Girl Band, Girls Aloud have been taking some time apart as a group to concentrate on solo projects, which they have all done very well on, and back when they announced their break, 3 years ago, they promised they wasn’t splitting up and that they will be back together and they haven’t let us down.

They will be releasing their comeback single next month, which reportedly was recorded in May.

However, unfortunately not all of the girls saw each other during the recording due to their busy work schedules. A source said: “Some of them recorded their vocals separately, so they didn’t actually see each other that much during the process. Obviously, Nadine has been pretty estranged from the group during their time off, too.”

There is also a music video to go along with the track which the source revealed is also ‘due out next month’.

This all coincides with their 10th year anniversary and the girls will be doing an arena tour in 2013 as well.

Leona Raps Nicki

We can all relate with the fact that we try and rap along to our favourite songs and it seems singers do the same, as Leona Lewis has admitted this week that she likes to do this, especially to Nicki Minaj songs. She explained saying that “When [she’s] in the car and there’s a song on [she’ll]… look up the lyrics and rap along.”

As mentioned a couple of weeks ago Leona will feature a bit of her own rapping on her newest album, Glassheart which will be released on 15th October, and even joked about going up against Minaj and that she should watch out!

Well as well as being inspired by Nicki Minaj, Leona has been working with Emeli Sande who has written one of the tracks off the album called ‘Trouble’ which currently has a music video online, and the single will be available to download tomorrow (7th October).
