Tonight I was joined in the studio by Peter Thomas from Harvest for the Hungry, an Essex based charity that for 13 years has been sending basic food items to people in Bulgaria. Over 100 schools and 22 churches are supporting the appeal this year. There is more information on the website. www.harvestforthehungry.co.uk. Peter reminded us that he had been at the opening of the old studios of Phoenix in the Bay Tree Centre many years ago. We were also joined on the phone by Richard Davies, who was in the studio two weeks ago as one of the volunteers at the Olympics and Paralympics. Tonight he told us about being at the parade on Monday in the area by Buckingham Palace will all the volunteers wearing their magenta outfits. Many requests tonight, thanks to everyone. Music tonight included tracks from Shakira, Dusty Springfield, Adele, Harry Chapin, Beach Boys, Dione Warwick, Queen, John Lennon, Boney James, Fairport Convention & Sandy Denny and many others. Join me next week when my studio guest is Stuart Hull, who is from Ingatestone and is off to Oxford to study to become a Vicar and he is only 23 years old.
