Good to be back on Friday evening. Robert Fletcher joined us on the phone tonight to talk about the exhibition at Ingatestone Library about four memebrs of Bomber Command who were members of the Ingatestone Boys Club. The Queen is due to unveil a new memorial in London. It was all very interesting and I did not know that 55,000 members of Bomber Command were lost. Request tonight for Michael who wanted Albatross by Fleetwood Mac and Phyl who want something from Cliff Richard’s Jubilee concert set, so we had Dangerous. Tracks tonight from Adele, Led Zeppelin, Zombies, Beatles, Ami Grant, Sadie, Joe Sample, Neil Young, Booker T, Corrs, Doors, Otis Reading, and others in our usual eclectic mix. We paid tribute to Robin Gibb, whose funeral was today. I also featured two tracks from the new Beach Boys album, That is why God made the radio. The news stories included two from China. One about pigs being made happy by having their own little villa and toys to play with. The other about the complete copying of an Austrian village, without permission. In the Chatroom tonight the conversation went from commenting on the music, to the weather, growing herbs and football. They have their own entertainment! Why not join them and me, next week between 8-10.
