St Lukes Hospice, ‘Made by Karen,’ & Health features

Monday 27th- Tuesday 28th February

I covered lots of local events and shared the details of the 6th Essex Book Award Winner. Health features included training ideas for low cost come rain or shine. Also my wholegrain brown rice and coconut milk rice pudding with raisins and cinnamon – delicious! For more exercise and nutrition advice check out my blog: www.mindhealthmovement.com

Wednesday 29th February:

Karen from www.madebykaren.co.uk joined me in the studio to speak about why she started making metal free jewellery. Mum of one and local resident, Karen produces the most beautiful jewellery and sells it at events and through her website. She was kind enough to bring me a present! A starfish glass pendant. I absolutely love it! Karen packages and posts her items in a beautiful way so presents directly posted to the person they are intended for is still thoughtful and tasteful! I met Karen at the Brentwood Tweetup and you can also find her on twitter @MadeByKaren. Listen again here: Karen Osborn jewellery maker

Thursday 1st – Friday 2nd March 2012:

On thursday Keith Brown from FSB came into Phoenix to give me the round-up on the latest local business news. On friday Anita from St Lukes Hospice in Basildon came to tell me all about the history and services of the hospice and the next fundraising event called the Dance-a-thon. 14 different styles of dance are scheduled between 10am to 5pm on Saturday 31st March at the Civic Hall in Grays Essex. It doesn’t matter if you’ve got 2 left feet when it comes to dancing, or if you’ve only got 20 minutes to spare, you can still take part in this fantastic event! Children from 7 years old upwards are also invited to take part and gain sponsors, providing they are accompanied by an adult. To get your registration form pop down to The Brentwood Centre or get them via www.stlukeshospice.com . Listen again here: Anita from St Lukes Hospice in Basildon
