December is Magic

Ah well, the Magic of December is on us and the madness of present shopping is in full effect…well for some. I’m likely to be in the dog house unless I get a wriggle on. So hair cut after the show, then a prober start at shopping; albeit online.

Twofers today was all about the songbird Adele, who we discovered has a subtle rider for her tours…one being only european beer, no north American; good girl I say….

Adele – we played, “Chasing pavements” and “Someone like you”

My Comedy show picks for this week……

Paul Merton and Josie Lawrence – 11th Dec 2011 • Comedy Store.

TV’s Paul Merton will be joining Josie Lawrence at the Comedy Store Players for a night of comedy improvisation. Other comedians on the bill include Lee Simpson, Richard Vranch, Andy Smart and Neil Mullarkey.

Al Murray’s Christmas Cracker – 11th Dec 2011 • Queen’s Theatre.

Join Al Murray’s The Pub Landlord for one special night of festive cheer at the Queen’s Theatre. Special guests include Craig Campbell and Andi Osho, plus one more Christmas cracker that’s yet to be announced!

Bill Bailey — Gently Modified – 11th Dec 2011 • O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire.

Bill Bailey will be bringing his “Gently Modified” mix of weirdness to the Shepherd’s Bush Empire in December.

Live music pick for this week;

Tue 13 Dec

Gallows – XOYO, London

Watford hardcore band Gallows formed in 2005 and released their acclaimed debut album ‘Orchestra of Wolves’ in 2007.

Fri 16 Dec

New Model Army – Electric Brixton, London

One of the truly seminal inspirations in the world of music, New Model Army is a band renowned for having generated a wealth of musical styles.

Sat 17 Dec

Shed Seven – O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire

Indie band from York who were a staple of the 1990s Britpop scene. With 15 Top 40 singles and a string of Top 20 albums to their name, the band officially broke up in 2003 only to announce their reformation in 2007.

Sat 17 Dec

White Lies – Wembley Arena

A promising London three-piece with quirky melodic choruses. Their music is surprisingly accomplished for such a young band and is layered with anthemic synths, which has already seen them draw comparisons with The Killers.
