Interview Part 2 [audio:https://www.phoenixfm.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Daniel-Leigh-2.mp3|titles=Daniel Leigh 2]
The brilliant Singer/Songwriter Daniel Leigh of New Device joined me in the studio to perform two solo tracks “We’ll be Lovers Tonight” and “The End of Hope” (is a long way to go) and to talk about his life and music.
Daniel gave a truly stunning acoustic set in the studio, his voice is superb and he hits the high notes just as easy as the low ones! Listen to the interview and the live performances and you will be blown away by his voice and songs. A really gifted guy, great to interview and knows his music, he has a real passion for songwriting, singing, production and working with other artists.
Best known for his powerful, melodic and inspiring vocals fronting the rock band New Device, Daniel Leigh is becoming a familiar face in the UK rock scene. Now the singer/song writer is giving himself another path to tread. His recent decision to branch out and pursue a solo career alongside his hard rock projects has brought forth a whole new chapter for the young vocalist. His music touches deeply on personal beliefs
and experience bringing to light a calmer, gentler but by no means any less
passionate side in his ever expanding journey within music.
Taking influence from almost every facet of musical genre, Daniel Leigh has a unique
and mesmerising sound, with Electronic drum beats, clean and acoustic guitars,
and rich, colourful melodies. His intriguing collection is without a doubt
primarily driven through powerful vocals, giving this exciting new project a
genuine and honest feel. Through his music, Daniel Leigh is presented ‘stripped
bare’, exposing a deeply personal and natural central core.
Daniel Leigh has been a performer/songwriter/musician since the young age of 14 and is
rapidly becoming one of the most promising and professional young musicians in
the UK. Just recently he was handpicked by GUN to support them at 2 sell out
shows in Glasgow. Throughout his career in music Daniel has performed alongside
the likes of Bon Jovi, Europe Killswitch Engage, The Used and Zach Wylde to
name but a few, becoming a regular on the festival circuit. He has tasted many
musical genres, such as his works in soul, stage, and hard rock.
His new venture is already turning heads and his charismatic persona translates in
such a authentic and captivating way that it is not to be missed.
