The effervescent Colin Taylor local writer, story maker and Chair of the Brentwood Writers Circle came into the studio to talk to me about his life, his work and his new book which is a must for children and parents.

Colin also works closely with local schools. He explained “Children love my stories. I tell them in a dramatic, larger than life manner. I make them come alive and entrance and enchant children. Working with children across the primary range, from nursery to year six, I tell stories from those I have written and from the traditional repertoires and others that I have found”.

“Children, from years one to six, enjoy my inspirational workshops, where I use a variety of approaches to motivate children to write”.

The Restaurant Bear – A book by Colin Taylor

After Ian and Rachel’s parents buy the the Bear restaurant, someone steals meat from the fridge. When Ian’s sweets go missing too, the children decide to investigate.
What is the secret of the stuffed bear’s head hanging in the restaurant? Why
are their parents’ redecorating plans such a disaster? Together with their new
school friend Serafina, they must find a way to prevent the catastrophe that
threatens The Restaurant Bear.
