Saturday Breakfast 7 till 10am with Rob Harvey

I’ve quite the busy weekend, as after my show I have a little bit of community work for the afternoon and on Sunday, the big question is how will the weather fair….answer is WET..

One of the topic for today was the modern fad of ‘App’s’ for smart phones. Its one of those things where you download use and then forget, but the question is are these Apps of any real value.  One App I downloaded last week, I expect not to use or look at again after a week……have a listen to a couple of the jingles I made with it…..

Dave Grohl was in the news this week for breaking up a fight, live as he performed in London. So Twofers today was a kind of Tribute, with two from the Foo Fighters – ‘Long road to ruin’ and ‘Walk’ .

My Comedy show picks for this week……

Barry Cryer, at the E4 Udderbelly – 17th July 2011

Barry Cryer been telling jokes since the dawn of time, writing gags for Morecombe and Wise, Tommy Cooper and The Two Ronnies …not forgetting Kenny Everett, Richard Pryor and Frankie Howard. Now you can enjoy him sitting down and having a good ‘ol chat about the first thing that comes into his head – at the Southbank

An evening with Dom Joly – 27th July 2011

Spend a hilarious evening with comedian Dom Joly. This show will follow the last ten years of his life, during which he has ‘holidayed’ in Chernobyl and North Korea, and soared across the Grand Canyon on an 8-foot rocket. He will also tell the tale of how he got arrested in Switzerland while dressed as a yeti – at The Bloomsbury Theatre.

Live music pick for this week;

Wed 20 Jul

Athlete – Union Chapel, Islington

Commercial indie rockers from South East London. In acknowledgement of their pop choruses, the band won an Ivor Novello award in 2006 for their smash hit single ‘Wires’.

Wed 20 Jul

Scissor Sisters ‘Music Night Racing’ – Sandown Park Racecourse, Surrey

Summer evening of racing at Sandown Park Racecourse followed by a concert from Scissor Sisters.

Thu 21 Jul

Mystery Jets  – The Hippodrome, Kingston Upon Thames

Three excellent albums, whenever they play it is a real joy to experience and we’re sure this will be no different. With them being so local..

Sat 23 Jul

BIG AUDIO DYNAMITE – Royal Albert Hall

The groundbreaking rock-hiphop-reggae outfit formed by Mick Jones in the wake of The Clash will reunite after twenty five years for a series of international live dates
