Monday – The only way is Essex gets a Bafta!!!

A busy weekend for me so I’m in the studio for a rest!!! I have results from the Bafta awards, local news and sport…

CRICKET
Essex Eagles beat Unicorns by 8 wickets to retain their unbeaten record in the Clydesdale Bank40 competition.

ESSEX Vs SURREY Lv= County Championship.
Essex gained a draw to emerge from the match with 9 points whilst Surrey took 10 points.
Scoreboard:
Essex 548 all out and 324 all out
Surrey 506 all out and 65-1 wicket

CYCLING
A WARNING has been issued to cyclists and parents about the dangers of trying to ride Hadleigh’s Olympic mountain biking course.  Safety measures such as wooden barriers have also been installed on parts of the track to prevent this.  Parents are also warned to advise their children not to go to the course or try to ride it.

MUSICIANS are still jamming at a bar in Brentwood, The Hot Hob Blues Jam, at the Essex Arms, in Warley Hill, runs every Tuesday from 9pm to midnight in the pub’s Seaxe Bar and regular participants had feared it could be moved. But after talking to the new landlord, the jam is staying at the bar, with musicians meeting up for the first session since the change of owner last Tuesday.  New players are welcome to attend any of the nights, which costs £1 entry for jammers and £2 for audience members.

TALENTED Danielle Bird, 13, of The Barnyard, Langdon Hills, represented England at the Il Pulcinella d’Oro, a classical singing competition, held in Naples. After a spending a week in the Italian city, she beat 22 other teenagers from across the world to win the under-15s competition for singing in her own language.
