Drive – Funnyman Greg Davies & Build A Band’s Louise Perry

The day job continues to drag me up and down the country for training, so while I was in Kent yesterday big thanks to Graham Stannard for sitting in for me yesterday when live guests were Nicola Stacey, Kathryn Dean and Cllr Janet Pound.

What a feast of interviews to come back to tonight. First out of the blocks was comedian Greg Davies. The face and voice will be recognised by many but he’s probably best known as Mr Gilbert of E4 smash sitcom The Inbetweeners. Ahead of a UK tour which takes in nearby Chelmsford next Thursday, we spoke about a glittering career and my apparent determination to fill our listeners’ heads with images of him with little clothes on. The publicity shots for his latest stand-up shows explain it all. [audio:https://www.phoenixfm.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Greg-Davies-Interview.mp3|titles=Greg Davies – Interview]

I often think of myself as a Jack Of All Trades – Master Of None. Someone with many strings to her bow is the beautiful Louise Perry. I sat in the studio awe of the highly accomplished presenting work she has done over the years, but today’s chat was about a new project her and business partner Trevor are starting up next month called Build A Band (www.buildaband.biz). It provides opportunities for youngsters with an interest in music to come together and learn how to harness those skills in a band set-up. We also heard how she puts theory into practice with a rendition of Don’t Stop Believin’ from the party band she fronts One Foot In The Groove (great name!).
