Interview with The Grates

Click here to listen to the interview:

We were at the Metro Club in London’s Tottenham Court Road to see Patience, Alana and John, otherwise known as Australia’s finest premier indie garage pop threesome, the Grates! They had a chat with Phoenix FM’s perpetual work experience boy, Steve.

The band are currently spearheading a charm offensive across several continents – they’re gigging in the USA and Australia in the next few weeks before coming back to the UK for more low-key shows. They certainly won us over – we would have dedicated the whole of one of our shows to the interview if we could fit it all in!

The debut album, “Gravity Won’t Get You High”, is out now and most of the tracks had a good airing during the live show – particularly good were Sukkafish, Seek Me and the new single, 19-20-20, recently released along with the world’s most colourful video ever (fact).

You can visit the band’s Myspace here: www.myspace.com/thegrates. Tell them Phoenix FM sent you and see if you can become their millionth friend! There’s an official site too: www.thegrates.com.
