Phoenix FM's very own Motor Racing correspondent Lloyd Bonson managed to catch up with Tom Mills about joining the John Danby Racing Team and his winniing strategy!
Tom Mills will be on board with the John Danby Racing team in 2008 competing in the VdeV Championship.
Tom's father, accomplished racing driver Steve Mills, raced against John Danby in 1999, 2000 and 2001 so the family are old friends of the team. Since Tom started racing on his 20th birthday, where he won 1st in class in his debut race, he too has built an enviable reputation as a winning driver. With many podium finishes and lap records under his belt, Tom is looking forward to competing in the Ligier next year and hoping to add a Championship Win to his already impressive career!
John Danby Racing and Tom are currently working together to secure the budget required to compete next season as well as attract in a second driver as the races are multiple driver, 3hr, 4hr and 6hr events.
Tom adds ' We start testing for next season on Friday at Silverstone, where there are number of new components that need to be developed. This will be my first outing in the car so as you can imagine I'm really excited.'
