The Mixtape - 20 October 2007Tonight's random hotpotch featured some very random songs indeed from 1992 - when did you last hear Kingmaker, The Heart Throbs, The Jennifers and Ride on the radio? We also had some great new albums in this week including Eskimo Disco's wonderfully-titled 80s-fest "Robots & Laptop Dancers Make Good Friends", and also former Bellatrix lead singer Eliza Newman's debut solo offering, "Empires Fall", plus we've got the new mini-album from former Catatonia frontperson Cerys Matthews, "Awyren = Aeroplane". It's such a good album I don't care that I don't understand a word of it! Also managed to play a track the brilliantly quirky Myspace-only track "Add Me" from northern troublemakers Chumbawamba, one from Thousand Yard Stare's lost classic from 1993, "Mappamundi", new singles from Bloc Party and Sigur Ros, and the song that is the most played in the world right now (according to last.fm), Radiohead's 15 Step.
