I was also very careful not to play the most overrated indie band of all time, the SMITHS ... I don't care how many wonderful bands they influenced, they are second-division chugalong workshy chancers to a man, and that's the end of it. It also gave me the opportunity to discover bands like Melys (where the hell have they been all my life?) - shows far-reaching the great man's legacy is if it keeps me up until 2 in the morning trawling mp3 blogs in the vain attempt I might find another session of theirs.
