Tip the Teens Out of Bed.....and More!
Hey, thank-you all for a fun weekend of programmes – it’s brilliant to get the interaction, both on the phones and in the chatroom, you’re making me feel really at home here at Phpenix FM!
Thank-you to Simon Andrews in Pilgrim’s Hatch for being a sporting victim of our new ‘Tip the Teens Out of Bed’ feature – he was set up by his brother Mark after waking the whole family when he fell down the stairs at 3am after an apparently good night out…..
And we’re looking for your nominations for next weekend – it’s simple, if someone in your family is stubbornly refusing to rise from their pit, tip me off with the details, then put the radio (tuned to Phoenix 98FM) near to their bed (but not within arms reach), and we’ll wake them up for you!
We also had some fun with our new chatroom game Cam Factor thank-you for my rating of 2 out of ten (you rotten lot!), and congratulations to Dennis Rookard, who, as winner, was duly nominated to perform the Full Monty on cam. I made the point of not tuning into his show on Sunday night just in case he obliged! Next weekend we’ll be developing this with some chatroom challenges – so if you’ve got a web-cam, make sure it’s turned so you can enjoy the fun.
As it’s bank holiday, I’m with you for a special programme on Monday 27th August from 11am ‘til 3pm, and this is your chance to get involved…..
It’s going to have a bank holiday musical bonanza. The show will be split into thirty-minute themes, and YOU’RE invited to suggest a theme, and some songs to go with it!
It could be a genre: do-wop or glam rock, reggae or soul for example.
It could be an artist of group: maybe the music of Abba or the songs of Lennon and McCartney.
Or it could be something more generic – sunshine songs, songs with American cities in the title …….. the only limits are your own imagination!
So please drop your ideas in to radio@phoenixfm.com (with ‘Ian McGregor’ in the subject line please) - and the best of them will be used on bank-holiday Monday the 27th from 11am.
Don’t forget, Gemma’s with you from 7am Monday thru Friday for weekday Phoenix Rising. And I’ll be back with you on Saturday and Sunday.
Keep it Phoenix, and tell your friends!
Ian McGregor
