SAVE BRENTWOOD ACTION GROUP ON PHOENIX FM

Save Brentwood Action Group (SBAG) secretary Gerry Bender made a return visit to Phoenix FM to launch its discussion document on the William Hunter Way development site.

Appearing on Phoenix FM’s Saturday Pitstop show, Gerry introduced listeners to SBAG’s recommendations for the cinema/retail and associated parking complex, including:

1)      SCALE – That no more development should be earmarked for William Hunter Way than the site can comfortably accommodate.  Same restrictions on height, scale and design as neighbouring Sainsbury’s

2)      MULTI-STOREY CAR PARK – For no more cars than present surface car park with 475 spaces

3)      ENVIRONMENTAL – Buffer zone between surrounding houses and other premises and new development, as surrounds new Queens

Gerry also brought in his own music choice played during the discussion:

1)      Bob Marley & The Wailers:  Get Up, Stand Up

2)      Happy End:  Big Rock Candy Mountain

3)      Kamakawimo ‘Ole:  Somewhere Over The Rainbow, including lyric which Gerry lives by of “For without hope, I cannot live.  Remember the past, but don’t dwell there.  Face the future, where all our hopes stand”
