LET'S GO HARRY POTTER CRAZY......

Hi everyone

Hope you’ve all had a BRILLIANT week and are ready for a fun packed Saturday and Sunday, when controversy and wizardry take centre stage on WEEKEND Phoenix Rising.

On Saturday:

Plans to move Brentwood’s post-office lock, stock and stamping machine into WH Smiths at the Baytree Centre caused local people to see red, but the news that the new post-office will be UPSTAIRS, making life difficult for the elderly and disabled is causing an absolute UPROAR in town.

Leader of Brentwood Council, Brandon Lewis joins me live (Saturday, 8.20am) to tell us what’s he’s doing about it…..

PLEASE EMAIL YOUR COMMENTS AND CONCERNS DURING THE SHOW TO radio@phoenixfm.com.

It’s a frenzy of wizardry and Harry Potter madness this weekend as the final book in the enthralling series is at last unveiled. Chillingly entitled Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, rumours are rife that the bespectacled wizard will meet his end in untimely fashion…….

Barbara Pearce, manager of Brentwood’s Waterstones bookshop will join me bleary eyed after a late night on the tills. And we’re HOPING also to be joined by the very first person to buy the book in Brentwood, whoever he or she might be…..

And we’ll also hear about the children from Billericay’s Sunnymede Infant School who are going green in a big way……

On Sunday:

We meet an inspiring teenager from Shenfield. Samantha Barnwell’s just been elected national ambassador to the new youth volunteering charity, v.

And, for the big boys who are little boys at heart, we invite you to enjoy your own James Bond moment as vintage and classic cars galore prepare to grace the streets of Ingatestone.

Both days:

Don’t forget, if you’re involved with an event on and would like to trumpet off about it, call me on 84 99 31 and you could be blabbing the burb to Brentwood and Billericay!

All that on Saturday and Sunday, 7-10am on the breakfast show with BITE,
WEEKEND Phoenix Rising.

See you sharp at  7am
BY THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX!
