The Last Monday Madness for the Summer, 16th July 2007

Ollie introduced the show and Rhys went first for a change as Peri was running late.
  • Rhys with his Wacky Wadio of Weird and his Brain Teaser, see below.
  • Peri with the news both local and international
  • Ollie then told us how to make Black Forest Gateau
  • George talking about Scouts in their centenary year
  • Tom C, the movie master, reviewed the new Harry Potter and Order Of The Phoenix movie
  • Tom I and Josh with local and national sports news, Josh with Brentwood FC vsCharlton at the Brentwood Arena.   South Weald losing the Cricket to Rettendon.  Tom spoke about the Premierships police raids and about Severiano Ballesteros retiring.

Rhys' Wacky Wadio of Weird;

  1. A bowling pin has to tilt only 7.5 degrees in order to fall down.
  2. A cow in Thailand says "oo-ah" not "moo".
  3. The word "girl" appears only once in the Bible.
  4. A pineapple is a berry.
  5. In Italy a campaign for Schweppes Tonic Water translated the name to "Schweppes Toilet Water".
  6. Every time you lick a stamp you're consuming 1/10th of a calorie.
  7. Most car hooters honk in the key of F.
  8. The world's longest game of Monopoly lasted more than 660 hours.
  9. Sound travels through water three times faster than through air.
  10. In the film "Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone", a young actor named Joe Sowerbutts provided the voice of the original actor, Daniel Radcliffe, when his voice started to break.

The answer to last times Brain Teaser was "a coffin", see the last Monday Madness post for the question!

This times Brain Teaser for you to consider over the summer is as follows;

Two children had just finished playing in the cellar.  The face of one was covered with dust but the other ones face remained quite clean.  Yet it was the child with the clean face who went to wash himself.  Why is this?
