Brentwood Model Yacht & Power Boat Club

Xanthe "The Bear" Bearman knew nothing about Model Yachts & Power Boats so was delighted to welcome Derek Coleman into the Phoenix FM studio.

Derek was a fascinating guest, a lovely gentleman with an obvious passion for his hobby. He is the Brentwood Model Yacht & Power Boat Club's General Secretary and really knows his stuff!

The club was formed in 1988 by local model boat enthusiasts.  There are sections for radio controlled model yachts, scale models & petrol/electric powered boats.

The club uses two lakes in the Moutnessing area, and hosts some amazing events during the year.  Derek is the owner of a beautiful 1-meter yacht, and told me about the Regattas that they hold & members attend.

New members & visitors are always welcome.  The club meets on Sundays from 10am, and also Wednesdays during the summer.

Xanthe could have talked to Derek all day, and was thrilled that he took the time out to be interviewed at Phoenix FM.
