Alice In Wonderland and the latest filmls to see. rent and buy.

Alice In Wonderland

Some love it, some aren't so sure.  I though Alice in Wonderland was pretty good.  Johnny Depp never fails in any role, adding just enough wacky with some wonderfully touching moments in the Hatters role.  Alice is a refreshing face to see on screen.  And you can deny Tim Burton's style remains intact and so identifyable amongst the mainstream same ole same films being released.  I love'd it!  What did you think?

The Lovely Bones

This film does not do Alice Seabold justice.  The book is great; the film not so good.  The portrayal of a wierd world between heaven and earth throughout the movie is both distracting from the story and annoyingly brightly coloured and just wierd.  I wouldn't want to be trapped there and I definately wouldn't want to trapped watching this film again!  It's pants! (Ha, what great journalism and so diplomatic).

The Ugly Truth

Romantic comedy that is full of cute moments and witty one liners.  Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl star in this rom com inspired by a battle of the sexes, however it quickly comes apparent that they have more in common than they think.  Easy to watch and you'd probably watch it again if was on.  Definitely one to rent, could be a keeper!

The Hurt Locker

A bloke's film through and through but an easier one for us ladies to handle and well worth watching.  A great insight into Iraq and gives a feel for life on the front line in a bomb disposal unit.  James Renner depicts  a soldier at war who is there for the thrill of life/death situations and the feeling of doing something worth importance.  It's non-judgemental view of war allows you to understand the job being carried out rather than focusing on the politics behind the war.  Well worth purchasing; a film collectors must have and suitable for any blokes growing DVD collection.

District Nine

A Sci-Fi thriller that is suprisingly funny, handling a quirky topic well with unusual outcomes.  What would we do if an Alien race landed on our doorstep with no sense of direction and needing help?  Definitely worth watching and I would love a sequel though very much doubt one will arise.  Worth buying... why not!
