Amsterdam to Basildon On Sunday show we had a little Depeche Mode special, as I had enjoyed seeing the lads play live at the O2 Arena.... still sounding big and bold, and indeed a long way from their roots in Basildon. The band has evolved into a fully international acclaimed act and thats no mean feet when you conside their cult status label. Las week I took a few days off and visited Amstedam, a city of unique culture and free thinking......as well as the Ann Frank museam and Van Goghs paintings, there is the outragous manner of the Red light district......the words eye and opened, spring forth. On the show I spoke of a neigbour of mine who I witnessed being scared of a kitten.....so I asked our lovely listeners if thay had an odd phobis. Steve called to say he was thinking about his fear of one way streets as he listened to me.......then realised he was going down the one way street near the Baystreet centre - Doah! All this plus lovely musicola......... Written by Rob Harvey
