Drive 1st - 5th Feb

Another week on Drive and it was good to speak to my guests this week - Terry Hunt from Basildon Rotary Club pooped in on Monday to tell us about the Basildon rotary club bike ride this May - it's the 3rd year they've done this and looking for more of the numbers that took part in the 1st year compared to last year - it's a great way to get fit if you're looking to get into shape, or an excuse to get the bike out of the shed (mine has flat tyres and is covered in cobwebs at the moment) as they're also holding training sessions before the race if you sign up to help you, so a great chance to get involved - Terry's details are below as it the website to find out more information.

Also on Tuesday Helen Robertson from Brentwood ABC Social Club came in to tell us about the club - although the average age is over 50 they're looking for people of any age to join - and they're looking for more numbers to boost the current tally of twenty-odd. The good thing is Helen said it's a really nice thing to enjoy other people's company, especially those who wouldn't have known what else to turn to after a divorce, move to a new area etc. There's lots of different activities, you can always suggest a new one, and you can pick and choose what you do. It's been going since '94 and they meet at different venues - Helen's no. for further info is 01277 213116.

Finally spoke to our very own Ed Wellman on Friday who poped into to tell us about the massive day at Brentwood County High School where he teaches and the event he organised involving Brentwood's very own Brit-award nominated, number one artist, stunning musical talent and all round nice girl Pixie Lott going to the school for a Q and A with the pupils as well as performing ot them, as part of a Govt initiative to get children involved in music. Phoenix were all over it - you can see it all over from the link on the front page of the website and hear Michelle Ward's interviews with Pixie and those at the school.

In fact, you could say you'll have to "cry me out" if you miss it!

Unlike the "boys and girls" at school who saw Pixie!

What would their "mama say?!"

Like Sir Issac Newton who discovered "gravity"!

No, scrub that last one.
