Body Talk - 19th Jan My guest this evening was Mr Tony Owa, who is one of the consultant ear, nose and throat surgeons at Spire Hartswood Hospital. Mr Owa has travelled extensively both with his work and teaching, including to the USA. He spoke about dizziness and balance problems, of which there are many causes. It's not just a case of feeling light headed, that could be the symptom of a much more complicated condition. If in doubt, first port of call is your own GP, who would then refer you on to a specialist such as Mr Owa. He has also designed a device for children having treatment for glue ear. For a while, inserting grommets in the ear was out of fashion, but with this new device it certainly seems to be much more effective. This treatment is currently available at Spire Hartswood Hospital.
