Body Talk - 5th June

Chuck Willmott was my guest this evening. We had a very entertaining and lively chat about the art of tattooing. Chuck has been tattooing people for over 20 years and there aren't many parts of the body that she hasn't had to tattoo!

Years ago tattoos had a bit of a bad press, usually representing the darker side of life, but nowadays they have become very fashionable, particularly with celebrities such as David Beckham and Angelina Jolie.

You have to be 18 to get one, but there's no upper age limit. Chuck has clients who are over 60! It's never too late.

Yes, it does hurt, so you really have to be sure that you are getting the tattoo that you will be happy with, there's no going back. The only way to remove it is through laser treatment, which is costly and more painful than having the tattoo itself. If you do decide that your tattoo is unwanted, maybe it's the name of an ex partner, then Chuck can cover it over with a different design.

Tattoos are very personal things, often marking times of importance in a person's life. They can be a sign of love, defiance or challenge. Look beyond the design and you'll find a whole life history.

If you want to know more you can email me and I'll pass your questions on to Chuck.
