Remembrance programme

Hope you were interested in our Phoenix FM special for remembrance last Sunday.  I was rather proud of this programme as it allowed me to drag out of the archives some very remarkable recordings.

What came over was the bravery of these man, and that whilst we have the present day forces facing up to danger, almost seventy years ago, war and its effects could be seen high over Essex and on the home front.  It brings home the massive changes throughout Europe in the last fifty years.

As for the music used in the programme, my thanks go to the number of folk musicians who I managed to press gang into laying down some very useful tracks.

Talking about the home front... the big news for Dennis this week, is that I’ve had the builders in...  Yep I’m having a brand new bathroom build. Well I say bathroom but these days what I really having is a wet room. That means that I’ll be able to slash water all over the place and rather than having to mop up the bloody stuff, instead see it flow away down a central hole in the floor... lovely. Should keep me amused for hours?
