Bodytalk 22nd September

On this week's Bodytalk we took a look at the topical health issues of the week, these included;

New research showing that people with flu could be more likely to suffer from heart attacks.
Smoking bans in Europe and North America have dramatically reduced the number of heart attacks.
The fact that the NHS stop smoking service may have saved 700,000 lives.
Vitamin D can improve the survival chances of both skin and bowel cancer patients.
A new study revealed that older people are the least aware of how to reduce their chances of developing cancer.

We also recapped where you can go on the web for the latest Swine Flu information.

Tune in to Bodytalk on the 29th September when our special guest will be Dr Terry Matthews who is a consultant paediatrician at Spire Hartswood Hospital. Terry has many years of experience helping children and their parents deal with all kinds of childhood illnesses, in particular allergies and bowel problems. He will also advise on childhood infections and the use of antibiotics in children.
If you have a question for Terry you can send it in through this page; www.phoenixfm.com/contact.php

If you miss any of the special guests on Bodytalk you can download the podcasts and listen again at the Spire Hartswood Hospital website here; www.spirehealthcare.com/Hartswood/Podcast/
