Drive / June 8th-12th, 2009

This week on Drive was a belter, sunshine giving Brentwood's townsfolk the kind of sunny disposition that only the summer can bring. As a result, it had to be a summery track for my Featured Track of the week, and so it was, Big Yellow Taxi by Counting Crows went down like a glass of Pimms.

I also interviewed Hildegard Neil, ahead of her appearance in the play Impossible Steps at The Brentwood Theatre, in which she stars with her daughter, the actress Rosalind Blessed. I talked to Hildegard about what's it's like being in such a creative family (her husband being the gregarious and talented Brian Blessed) and what challenges she faced bringing such an emotive and dynamic script to life on the stage.

All week, I played the now-cult game NINETIES vs NOUGHTIES, and having gone 3-0 up, offered Jamie, our resident work experience student, via Project Trident in Brentwood and Billericay, the chance to bring over the points from last week to help him...I still won the fortnight 6-4 on the very last day proving successful...here's how it panned out:

Round Jamie / 00's vs Paul / 90's

#6 Favourite Actor Adam Sandler 5 - 10 Tom Hanks
#7 Favourite Comedy Programme Little Britain USA 8-10 Men Behaving Badly
#8 Favourite Actress Hilary Duff 3-7 Kate Winslet
#9 Favourite Song Ne-Yo / Closer 66% - 33% Blur / Badhead
#10 Favourite Sportsperson Jonny Wilkinson 40% - 60% David Beckham
