The Saturday Kickabout - 13 June
This weekend on the Saturday Kickabout Steve Robertson and Tom Dukeson kept us up to date with the latest sports news in the studio.
We covered a number of events, including a look forward to the Aegon Championship final in tennis where Andy murray is through to his first final on grass.
We had updates from the World Twenty20 as South Africa beat West Indies by 20 runs. It was good news in local cricket, with John Walford reporting from Central Park as Brentwood were awaiting the results of other teams at the top of the Essex Saturday League as they beat Ardleigh Green. John was looking forward to this coming Thursday's Twenty20 Cup match at the Old County Ground between Brentwood Buccaneers and Orsett.
Tom Dukeson kept an eye on the recent transfer rumours, with the amount of speculation that Cristiano Ronaldo's expected move to Real Madrid has triggered. Tom also speculated about next year in Formula One with news that Ferrari have increased the pressure on the FIA by reiterating the threat of setting up a rival series to Formula 1
In next weekend's show Mike Burchett will be joining us for the Community Football Surgery. Email radio@phoenixfm.com if you have any questions for us to put to our grass-roots football expert.
That's the Saturday Kickabout, every Saturday from 4-6PM in association with Acorn Window Services.
