BRENTWOOD CITIZENS ADVICE BUREAU ON PHOENIX FM

Brentwood Citizens Advice Bureau manager Richard McLeod told Phoenix FM's Saturday morning listeners about the campaign to increase volunteer numbers at the Crown Street bureau to nearer 60. Currently on 40 advisers, Richard's team is the first point of contact for many Brentwood people with queries and issues ranging from housing, money and employment to relationships and legal advice. The bureau's response is mostly divided between helping CAB visitors resolve situations themselves and pointing people towards the right help from elsewhere. Brentwood CAB is an independent charity aiming to empower users to resolve situations they find themselves in. The bureau is open 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday (except Thursday afternoons) and the first Saturday morning of the month. More volunteers are required to start an evening service. Those interested in the six-month training offered to become a CAB advisor should go to www.brentwoodadvice.co.uk
