The Saturday Kickabout - 23 May
This weekend Steve Robertson, Dan Westram and Tom Dukeson kept us up to date with all of the sport, whether local, national or international.
We had all the news from qualifying at the Monaco Grand Prix, with championship leader Jenson Button on pole position and World Champion Lewis Hamilton at the back of the grid after damaging his rear suspension and requiring a gearbox change.
The one football match that kicked off at 3pm saw Gillingham beat Shrewsbury by an injury time goal to nil, ensuring a place in League One for next season.
Dan Westram looked forward to Sunday's fixtures on the last day of the Premier League season, with the questions of who's still in with a possible place in Europe and which teams are in danger of relegation. All of the following matches kick-off at 4pm:-
Arsenal v Stoke
Aston Villa v Newcastle
Blackburn v West Brom
Fulham v Everton
Hull v Man Utd
Liverpool v Tottenham
Man City v Bolton
Sunderland v Chelsea
West Ham v Middlesbrough
Wigan v Portsmouth
In Rugby Union we had score updates from the very close Heineken Cup Final between Leicester and Leinster, with the Irish side winning the Heineken Cup for the first time in their history on Saturday evening as they edged out the Leicester Tigers 19-16.
Locally we had news of Brentwood Cricket Club heading the Essex League with a 100% record, along with updates on local cycling, bowls and more news concerning Great Leighs Racecourse and the perils of non-league football as Hornchurch face administration for the second time in five years.
Join the team every Saturday from 4-6 in association with Acorn Window Services.
